Gold Star family member, Tyler Harris, accompanies his grandmother, Mille Harris, the mother of fallen U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua Harris, to the Annual St. Barbara’s Day Ball held at Double Tree Suites in Downers Grove, Illinois, Dec. 7, 2024. Sgt. Joshua Harris was killed in action on Sept. 17, 2008, in Gerdia Seria, Afghanistan. The battalion's Gold Star Families attend the ball each year as a way to stay connected to their fallen hero's unit and to celebrate the unit's accomplishments.
