YIGO, Guam (Jan. 21, 2024) - Staff from the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) monitor for safety concerns as construction workers prepare to move a ten-ton precast concrete slab for a crane load test.
Cranes are among the most potentially lethal pieces of equipment on a construction site. More than twenty cranes are in operation on the site of Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz a daily basis.
The Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas is responsible for ensuring that each crane and crew undergo load testing before using a crane for regular project work.
