OICC Staff Inspect a Ten-Ton Precast Concrete Slab For Defects

YIGO, Guam (Jan. 21, 2024) - A precast concrete slab, intended for use on a construction site for the new Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz, is inspected by staff from the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) before a crane load test in January.

The ten-ton slab will be used to load test a new crane on the project site.
Cranes are among the most potentially lethal pieces of equipment on a construction site. More than twenty cranes are in operation on the site of Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz on a daily basis.
The Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas is responsible for ensuring that each crane and crew undergo load testing before using a crane for regular project work.
