FINEGAYAN, Guam (Jan. 22, 2025) - Staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) note installation defects with a newly completed floor on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. The floor was installed in a building nearing turnover but has a few defects that need to be addressed before the building can be delivered.
OICC MCM staff discussed the concern during an extensive closeout phase known as the 'Red Zone'. The Red Zone phase is a collaborative process between contractors, sub-contractors, and construction managers. In the Red Zone, contractors, engineers, and experts from key aspects of the building design will walk the project site together to check their work. The collaboration helps to ensure the construction contract specifications have been met and resolve any issues.
