Staff Sgt. Bennett Nelson Jr., the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Marine Air Ground Task Force planning specialist, sings the national anthem as part of the 11th MEU’s Marine Corps Ball ceremony here Nov. 9. Every year, Marines all around the world host a Marine Corps Ball celebrating the day the Marine Corps was first established. Instead of playing a recorded version of the national anthem, the MEU chose Nelson to sing the national anthem during the ceremony.
