U.S. Marines ready the M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge April 23, during Exercise Balikatan 2015 at Crow Valley, Philippines. The MICLIC is 1,750 pounds of composite C-4 fired remotely from inside an assault amphibious vehicle. Once detonated, the MICLIC provides an 8 meter by 100 meter path for ground units to flow through a breached obstacle. Balikatan is an annual bilateral training exercise with the Philippines aimed at enhancing readiness, military-to-military relations, territorial defense, humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations. The Marines are with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Devon Tindle/Released)
