Melchur, front right, teaches U.S. Marines stick-fighting techniques April 28 at Camp O'Donnell during exercise Balikatan 2015 as part of a martial arts exchange. Melchur is a sixth-degree black belt in mixed martial arts and competes in competitions in the Philippines. He was recruited to be the chief mixed martial arts instructor for the Philippine Army.
