150728-N-FO981-033 SAN DIEGO (July 28, 2015) – Machinery Repairman Fireman Branden Stocks mills threads into steel studs for a chock cover aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and contractors make repairs and improvements to the ship’s design. Every new ship conducts a PSA that is designed to harness results of a thorough test and evaluation period and pave the way to operational employment.
