Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s “Golden Knights” Tandem parachute Team prepare for a tandem jump while aboard their UV-18A Twin Otter aircraft in Ottawa, Ill., Aug. 12. Fourteen residents from the Chicago land area participated in a tandem jump with the team there. Participants jumped from a height of 13,000 feet at Sky Dive Chicago. The “Golden Knights,” based at Fort Bragg, N.C., offered local Chicago land educators, media, and government officials the opportunity to experience jumping from a plane, rushing 2.5 miles to the ground at 120 miles per hour. “Golden Knights” Tandem Team will accompany their Demonstration Team at the Chicago Air and Water Show on Saturday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 16.
