A recruit of Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, executes a vertical thrust with a dummy knife during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Nov. 30. Recruits were instructed to partner up with the recruit next to them and take turns executing each technique. MCMAP instructors show recruits how to execute each technique step-by-stpe before giving them the chance to try it on their own. Today, all males recruited west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 29.
