Medical supplies from World War II lay in the darkness of underground tunnels March 20 on Iwo To, Japan. These remnants remain in the Japanese Naval Hospital Headquarters where they were used by the Japanese Imperial forces to care for their wounded during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Many areas of the tunnels are too dangerous to explore because of cave-ins and unexploded ordnance. (Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Douglas D. Simons/Released)
