FORT HOOD, Texas — Soldiers of the 510th Route Clearance Platoon, 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade use the Medium Mine Protected Vehicle, Type II (MMPV II) to coordinate HUSKEY detection vehicles during a route clearance mission, as part of an operational test with the U.S. Army Operational Test Command. The MMPV II utilizes multiple communications and observation assets to provide command and control within their route clearance formation, enabling platoon leadership to better coordinate their element and respond to suspected threats or explosive hazards.
