FORT HOOD, Texas — Soldiers of the 510th Route Clearance Platoon, 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade conduct a Route Clearance mission in support of the Medium Mine Protected Vehicle Type II (MMPV II) operational test here. Operationally realistic training missions are an essential component of operational testing, reinforcing both the received doctrine and tactics training as well as unit-developed mission-specific tactics, techniques and procedures. Conducting realistic, unit specific missions support Soldier consideration and comments on the system under test by the U.S. Army Operational Test Command. Soldier comments are then incorporated into test data to be used in both system evaluation and refinement. (Photo by Clay Beach, U.S. Army Operational Test Command Visual Information)
