MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII — Sen. Mazie Hirono, a Hawaiian representative, speaks at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new MV-22 hangar on Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, July 19, 2016. Hirono was a key supporter for multiple military construction projects and helped secure over half a billion dollars in the last five years. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of an MV-22 Osprey hangar. Marine Medium Tilt Rotor-268, “Red Dragons,” made their new home here, making them the first Osprey squadron to be stationed in Hawaii. Senior military leaders, members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation and key community partners attended the event to support and praise the completion of the MV-22 hangar.
