U.S. Air Force Col. Blaine Holt, the director of the Transit Center at Manas, shakes hands with a highly-decorated veteran of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) after presenting a Kyrgyz flag to Mr. Beshimbaev Kabylbek, the Mayor of Manas Village, Kyrgyzstan, (center) during a Victory Day ceremony celebrating the end of the Nazi regime in 1945. The flag was flown over Afghanistan during a combat mission supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, and Holt also presented certificates for the flag to four living World War II veterans from Manas who were honored during the ceremony.
