16094-N-OI810-909 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Sept. 4, 2016) An MH-60S Sea Hawk, from the "Golden Falcons" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, prepares to land on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The MH-60S is a twin-engine helicopter used for a variety of tasks including anti-surface warfare, combat search and rescue, drug interdiction and anti-piracy operations. Flight operations mark the embarkation of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 aircraft to Ronald Reagan for their routine patrol. Ronald Reagan and its embarked air wing, CVW-5, provide a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
