160903-N-NF288-028 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 3, 2016) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman (SW) Tyler Finley, from McMinnville, Oregon, hauls in a mooring line in the forecastle of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Mooring lines must be detached from the pier and pulled in before the ship can get underway. Ronald Reagan and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
