    NAVAL BASE KITSAP-BREMERTON, Wash. (Oct. 3, 2016) - Petty Officer 3rd Class Vanzel Simmons (bottom), a native of Tampa, Fla., and Seaman Salvador Garza, a native of Modesto, Calif., assemble an arresting gear cable while conducting routine maintenance on board USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is currently undergoing an extended planned incremental maintenance availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility where the ship is receiving scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
