1st Lt. Jacob Geist, a Pennsylvania National Guard Soldier assigned to the 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry Regiment, provides security during a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) mitigation exercise January 18, 2017, at a military base near Amman, Jordan. Geist took part in the training exercise as a security force platoon leader while explosive ordinance disposal technicians from the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF), U.S. Marines and U.S. Army shared demonstrations of their techniques and procedures for identification and removal of unexploded ordinance. In addition, CBRN specialists from the JAF and U.S. Army demonstrated their reaction to chemical agents. The combined, joint exercise was an opportunity for the different services and nations to come together, share ideas, and show their counterparts some best practices.
