USS MAKIN ISLAND, Gulf of Aden (Dec. 27, 2016) U.S. Marine Sgt. Ryan Boele (left), an MV-22 flight line mechanic, speaks to Lance Cpl. Nickolas Thomsen, an MV-22 airframe mechanic, both with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, while removing an engine from an MV-22 Osprey on the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) Dec. 27. The engine power performance (EPP) on both engines were low and therefore scheduled for replacement.
