170318-N-ME988-120 CAPUL MIDIA, Romania (March 18, 2017) Capt. Dan Ciocoiu, deputy commander of Naval Operational Command Romania, center, and Capt. Larry LeGree, commodore, Amphibious Squadron 8, left, answer questions from media during a press conference for the commencement of exercise Spring Storm 17. Spring Storm 17 is a Romanian led bilateral exercise to enhance interoperability between Romanian and American forces. Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) are participating in the exercise. The ship is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
