Army Lt. Gen. Charles D. Luckey, commanding general, United States Army Reserve Command, offers his condolences to Margaret Espaillat during a memorial service conducted in her husband’s honor April 14, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Oviedo, Fla. Army Maj. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat, who served as commanding general of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) from 2014-2016, died April 7 while conducting physical training at Ft. Bragg. N.C. Less than two weeks prior to his unexpected passing, Luckey pinned Espaillat’s second star and selected the newly minted major general to serve as the next chief of staff for U.S. Army Reserve Command.
