During a memorial service conducted April 14, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Oviedo, Fla., Army Capt. Richard Espaillat expresses his gratitude for the hundreds of Soldiers who supported him and his family as they grieved the loss of his father, Army Maj. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat, former commanding general of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary). Espaillat’s father died while conducting physical training April 7 in Ft. Bragg, N.C. The recently promoted major general was poised to become the next chief of staff of U.S. Army Reserve Command.
