APRA HARBOR, Guam (Aug. 29, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) connect Landing Craft Utility 1651, assigned to Naval Beach Unit 7, for a stern-gate marriage in the ship’s well deck. Ashland is in Guam for a scheduled voyage repair availability while Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) will conduct unit-level training ashore. Ashland is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
