Michael Gerardi, from Hackettstown, N.J., assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during a ship tour. Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), is in Melbourne for a scheduled port visit.
