Colorado Army National Guard Sgt. Chloe Olson, a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System gunner with 3rd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery programs her fire-control computer for a “hot panel” firing simulation at the Colorado Springs Airport, Colo., prior to loading onto a C-130 Hercules aircraft for delivery to Fort Carson, Sept. 20, 2017.
In support of exercise War Horse Strike, this joint mission between 3-157th FA and the 41st Airlift Squadron, , 19th Airlfit Wing from Little Rock Air Force Base, not only helped meet the battalion’s requirement to airlift their HIMARS and conduct “hot panel” training in field conditions, but gave the C-130 crew experience with this type of cargo under flying conditions similar to those in Afghanistan while operating out of unimproved runway surfaces.
