Air Force Capt. Teneshia Nelson, a dentist with the 14th Medical Operation Squadron, based at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., injects a local anesthetic into the mouth of a Surinamese women prior to a tooth extraction, Tuesday, June 21, 2011, during the 2011 New Horizons Training Exercise. Free medical services are being offered to the people of Suriname including dentistry, optometry, dermatology, family medicine, pediatrics, and pharmacy. New Horizons is a cooperative humanitarian mission between the Suriname government and the United States Southern Command with the goal of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of Suriname.
