    129th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

    Navy Capt. Thomas Risser, a surgeon attached to the 25th Marine Regiment, performs a routine check-up for a Surinamese man, June 21, 2011, during the 2011 New Horizons Training Exercise. Free medical services are being offered to the people of Suriname including dentistry, optometry, dermatology, family medicine, pediatrics, and pharmacy. New Horizons is a cooperative humanitarian mission between the Suriname government and the United States Southern Command with the goal of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of Suriname.
