Surinamese people are in good spirits while waiting in long lines at a local clinic June 21, 2011, for free medical services being provided by the U.S. military during the 2011 New Horizons Training Exercise. Pediatric check-ups are being offered by the New Horizons Medical Readiness group along with dental, optometry, family medicine, dermatology, and pharmacy services. New Horizons is a cooperative humanitarian mission between the Suriname government and the United States Southern Command with the goal of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of Suriname.
