SALINAS, Puerto Rico, January 10, 2018 - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) works closely with FEMA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and local governments to open and operate collection areas for household hazardous waste materials. Hazardous waste includes aerosol cans, household cleaners, chemicals, paint, batteries, computers, and televisions. Currently there are collection centers in most of the municipalities throughout Puerto Rico where residents can drop-off their hazardous waste and obtain information about how to properly dispose of these materials.
