An Australian F/A-18F Super Hornet Fighter conducts a fly past after the combined joint live fire exercise held on Townshend Island during Talisman Sabre 2011 July 12, 2011. The combined joint live fire exercise held on Townshend Island in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area provided both Australian and U.S. JTAC's the opportunity to guide fire support from U.S. FA-18 and Australian FA-18 Super Hornets, Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters and Australian and U.S. ships. Talisman Sabre 2011 is a U.S.-led, Australian-supported bilateral exercise aimed at training U.S. and Australian forces in planning and conducting combined operations and improving U.S.-Australian interoperability.
