(From left to right) the USS Nimitz (CVN 68), the USS Higgins (DDG 76), the USS Antietam (CG 54) and the USS O'Kane (DDG 77) steam through the Gulf of Oman. Nimitz and Higgins, as part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, and Antietam and O'Kane as part of the John C.Stennis Strike Group, are on regularly scheduled deployments in support of Maritime Operations. Maritime Operations help set the conditions for security and stability, as well as complement counter-terrorism and security efforts to regional nations.
