U.S. Air Force Maj. Rick Wright a pilot with the 156th Airlift Squadron of the 145th Airlift Wing, overviews post takeoff check lists while on the very first C-17 mission from the Charlotte Air National Guard to Pope Army Airfield, while in the skies over North Carolina, August 1, 2018. The mission to Pope Field is the first of what is hoped to be many, by October the 145th Airlift Wing plans to begin supporting Airdrop missions with weekly flights to Pope Field, picking up Soldiers and Cargo for regular Airborne operations.
