U.S. Air Force Capt. William Boland, the winner of the individual category of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon satellite in Kabul, Afghanistan, watches as other participants cross the finish line Oct. 7. Running his first ever marathon, Boland joined more than 120 soldiers, airmen, sailors, Marines and civilians from numerous coalition nations who showed up for the early morning start of the marathon, which raised more than $12,000 for the St. Jude Research Hospital.
