U.S. Army Sgt. Christopher Tunis, a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., assigned to Company A, 172nd Support Battalion, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Task Force Blackhawk, uses low-tensile strength rope to hold the bundle of aircraft rigging together Oct. 5, at Forward Operating Base Sharana. The thin rope is used primarily to hold the rigging together while the aircraft hovers overhead during sling load operations. When the helicopter increases altitude, the weak cord snaps and the high strength rigging returns to its natural state under the aircraft.
