U.S. Army Sgt. Aracelly Castillo, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and assigned to Company A, 172nd Support Battalion, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Task Force Blackhawk, braces a flight line crew member as he signals an approaching helicopter into position Oct. 5, at Forward Operating Base Sharana. Castillo and the crew member carefully and safely guided the helicopter to pick up a sling-loaded generator. Sling load operations are critical to getting equipment and supplies to outlying areas where terrain is impassable by ground vehicles.
