A Chinook helicopter descends into the helicopter landing zone Oct. 5, at Forward Operating Base Sharana. Soldiers of Company A, 172nd Support Battalion, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Task Force Blackhawk, prepared a generator to be picked up and sling loaded to another FOB. Sling load operations are critical to getting equipment and supplies to outlying areas where terrain is impassable by ground vehicles.
