A Chinook helicopter lifts off with a sling-loaded generator to be taken to an outlying location Oct. 5, at Forward Operating Base Sharana. Soldiers of Company A, 172nd Support Battalion, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Task Force Blackhawk, prepared the generator as part of their daily duties at the helicopter landing zone. Sling load operations are critical to getting equipment and supplies to areas where terrain is impassable by ground vehicles.
