Drew Brookshire, a maintenance worker at a commercial boat-fixing company, sands a propeller shaft on “Oscar,” a 75-foot mechanized landing craft operated by U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Oct. 29, 2018. From top to bottom, the entire vessel was refurbished at a commercial boat yard near Beaufort, N.C. From sand-blasting barnacles off the bottom, to applying multiple coats of paint, to repairing dings and dents, the boat was readied for further service to the air station's mission.
