“Oscar,” a 75-foot mechanized landing craft operated by U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., is lowered into the water Oct. 31, 2018, after undergoing maintenance. From top to bottom, the entire boat was refurbished at a commercial boat yard near Beaufort, N.C. From sand-blasting the barnacles off the bottom, to applying multiple coats of paint, to welding dings and dents the boat has suffered throughout the past year; care was taken to extend the operational life of the vessel.
