Travis Wiley with Napa County Search and Rescue assists the Cal Guard UH60 Black Hawk crew with basic helicopter safety and rescue training Oct 4-6, at the Walker Creek Ranch in Marin County. Wiley, also the event main coordinator, guided volunteer SAR personnel in hands on practice with safety briefing for rescue operations in and around the aircraft. Wiley volunteered with the California Explorer Search and Rescue (Cal-ESAR), for 10 years before joining Napa County Sheriff SAR. Cal ESAR, a direct resource of Cal OES actively recruits individuals of all ages and abilities as they conduct a 6-month long training to perform various SAR and other emergency services functions.
