Volunteers from a vast range of search and rescue organizations across the state attended Cal OES’ helicopter safety and rescue training Oct 4-6, at the Walker Creek Ranch, Petaluma, CA. Training included both cold (engines off) and hot (engines and rotor on) orientation. The training pointed out the need for clear, hand communication especially during the hot training. The Cal Guard’s Taskforce Medivac crew and UH-60 Black Hawk supported this hands on training. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. 1st Class Salli Sablan)
