Search and rescue volunteers across the state attended the helicopter safety awareness training Oct 4-6 at the Walker Creek Ranch in Marin County. Attendees learned the safety and importance of both approaching and exiting a ‘hot’ aircraft. Training included loading and exiting with gear and with a litter with a simulated 160 lb ‘victim’. Cal Guard support of this event included Taskforce Medevac crew, Chief Warrant Office 3, Michael Maxwell, Chief Warrant Office 2 Ryan West and Staff Sgt. Justin Jensen.
