    A: Thomas Floyd, Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Food Service Officer for Station Cortez, FL.

    Q: Describe diversity in a word or two and explain what it means to you.

    A: Variety- Unique characteristics that make one different than the rest.

    Q: How has your experience and background prepared you to be effective at
    your job?

    A: I have learned many different techniques and recipes from a very diverse group of people throughout my Coast Guard career which has opened up my culinary portfolio to endless possibilities.

    Q: Tell me a little bit about your life outside of work.
    A: From Shelby North Carolina, a small town at the bottom of the North Carolina mountains. I am married to my wife Leah and have 3 children. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time with my family.
