In the early morning of Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, NC National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters “big voice” announcement system loudly stated “Exercise, Exercise, Exercise….Active Shooter drill has begun…The headquarters and surrounding facility is now in lockdown.. All Wardens report into Joint Operations Center (JOC) via radio.”
Photo: Raleigh EMS and firefighters moved into the building with State Capitol Police and Highway Patrol protection and triaged the wounded, eventually moving all to a safe location for further medical treatment.
