Matt Johnson, program manager, and Col. Phillip Borders, commander of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District, brief Gov. Mike Dunleavy and Heidi Hedberg, director of Alaska Division of Public Health, on the progress of construction for the alternate care facility at the Alaska Airlines Center on April 15 in Anchorage. To help the state in its fight against COVID-19, the Corps is executing a mission assignment from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that is focused on addressing a possible shortage of medical facilities in Alaska.
