Col. Phillip Borders, commander of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District, and Gov. Mike Dunleavy discuss the construction of the alternate care facility at the Alaska Airlines Center during a site visit on April 15 in Anchorage. To help the state in its fight against COVID-19, the Corps is executing a mission assignment from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that is focused on addressing a possible shortage of medical facilities in Alaska.
