Col. Phillip Borders, commander of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District, briefs Maj. Gen. Peter B. Andrysiak, commanding general of U.S. Army Alaska, on the alternate care facility under construction at the Alaska Airlines Center on April 15 in Anchorage. To help the state with its fight against COVID-19, the Corps is executing a mission assignment from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that is focused on addressing a possible shortage of medical facilities in Alaska.
