"I am Pfc. Ana Vega; I’m originally from the Medical Detachment out of Houston and I’m a 68 Whiskey (combat medic). However, full-time I work at a phlebotomy center, it’s a plasma donation center. I was originally at the quarantine site out at Camp Swift, Texas but because we didn’t have any patients, they split all the medics up. I have been on mission since March 13, 2020."
I would like to take a minute to say that Pfc. Vega laughed at my comment that she is one of the most senior and experienced Soldiers of this Mobile Testing Team even though she is a Pfc. She was humbled by the comment.
She said, “I like what I do and meeting new people, new friends, meeting different units and MOS (military occupation specialties), that’s cool. I like the people that I work with. My favorite thing about being a 68 Whiskey is patient care, any kind of patient care and helping out. Basically, medical can go anywhere and help out as needed.”
