Kay Nichols and Robert Heindl prepare to unveil the plaque during the memorialization of the Armed Forces Reserve Center at Fort Benning, Ga. The building was named in honor of Army chaplain Lt. Col. Elmer Heindl, a World War II veteran who was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross among other awards for his heroic actions in the Pacific Theater. Nichols is the chaplain's niece and Robert Heindl is his brother.
